On April 29, 2024, Balıkesir University (BAÜN) Ottoman Heritage Application and Research Center, Faculty of Tourism, and Library Community jointly organized a panel titled “Culinary Culture from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic.” The event, held at the BAÜN Atatürk Congress and Culture Center Malazgirt Conference Hall and chaired by BAÜN Vice Rector and Head of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Prof. Dr. Murat Doğdubay, featured speakers Dr. Ayşe Bölükbaşı, Assistant Professor from the Department of History at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University, “Cuisine in Halveti Tekkes in 16th Century Istanbul,” BAÜN Ottoman Heritage Application and Research Center Director and History Department faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serap Sunay, “Drinking Culture and Feasts in the Ottoman Palace in the 19th Century,” -Drinking Culture and Banquets in the Ottoman Palace in the 19th Century,“ and Dr. Esat Özata, Assistant Professor from the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Beykent University, delivered presentations titled ”Post-Republic Turkish Cuisine, Its International Recognition, and Applications."
