On February 26, 2025, Balıkesir University (BAÜN) Faculty of Science and Letters, in collaboration with the Ottoman Heritage Application and Research Center and the Atatürk Principles and Revolution History Research and Application Center, organized a panel titled “Women from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic.” The panel, held at the Malazgirt Conference Hall of the BAÜN Atatürk Congress and Culture Center, featured: Dr. Serap Sunay, Director of the Ottoman Heritage Application and Research Center; Dr. Mustafa Öge, Director of the Atatürk Principles and Revolution History Research and Application Center; Prof. Dr. Aylin Er, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science and Letters at Balıkesir University; academic and administrative staff; and students. The panel began with a moment of silence and the recitation of the Turkish National Anthem, and was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Öge, Director of the Atatürk Principles and Revolution History Research and Application Center. The event, which addressed the place and importance of women in social life from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic, ended with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the panelists.
