"OSMANLI PADİŞAH HAREMİ VE HAREMDE YAŞAM" Conference

On December 13, 2023, a conference was held with Prof. Dr. Ali Akyıldız, Faculty Member of the Department of History, Faculty of Literature, Istanbul 29 Mayıs University, as the speaker. The conference was attended by Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, Rector of Balıkesir University; Prof. Dr. Şenol Çelik, Director of the National Defense University's Non-Commissioned Officer Vocational School; academic and administrative staff; and students. Speaking at the conference, Prof. Dr. Ali Akyıldız drew attention to the existence of numerous misconceptions about the Ottoman Empire under the title “The Sultan's Harem and Life in the Harem” and shared information on the subject, supported by historical documents. The conference, held at the BAÜN Mehmet Akif Ersoy Central Library's July 15 Martyrs Conference Hall, concluded with the presentation of a plaque, a certificate of appreciation, and flowers to Prof. Dr. Ali Akyıldız.
