"CUMHURİYET'İN 100. YILINDA OSMANLI'DAN CUMHURİYET'E TARİHİ DEVAMLILIK" Conference

On December 19, 2023, Balıkesir University (BAÜN) Ottoman Heritage Application and Research Center organized a conference titled “Historical Continuity from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic in the 100th Year of the Republic.” The conference, held at the BAÜN Mehmet Akif Ersoy Central Library's July 15 Martyrs Conference Hall, featured Prof. Dr. Vahdettin Engin as a speaker and was attended by academic and administrative staff as well as students. Moderated by historian and author Emel Engin, Prof. Dr. Vahdettin Engin emphasized the importance of historical continuity and stressed the need to protect the country without making a distinction between the Ottoman Empire and the Republic. The conference ended with the presentation of a plaque and flowers to Prof. Dr. Vahdettin Engin by the Center Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serap SUNAY.
